Maria Sciberras Caruana

Maria Sciberras Caruana is a Hospitality Lecturer with extensive experience in both the hospitality industry and vocational education. Before pursuing a career in teaching, she gained valuable industry experience in food and beverage operations, restaurant supervision, front office services, and hotel management training in Malta and Ireland. This practical background enables her to combine academic knowledge with real-world industry practices, creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences for her students.

Maria holds a Higher Diploma in Hospitality Management from the Institute of Tourism Studies, a Bachelor (Honours) degree in Tourism Studies from the University of Malta, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, and a Master of Education from the Institute for Education. She has also completed further qualifications in Inclusive Education, reflecting her commitment to supporting diverse learners and promoting inclusive teaching practices.

Throughout her teaching career, Maria has specialised in vocational hospitality education, delivering both theoretical and practical modules in areas including food and beverage service, front office operations, housekeeping, food preparation, and health and safety. She is passionate about developing student-centred learning resources and innovative teaching strategies that bridge the gap between education and industry.
